Before we come
- Keep the cat indoors and in one room for an hour beforehand, or the appointment becomes a search.
- Say how many cats are in the house and whether any go outside. That is what decides whether this vaccine is worth giving at all.
- Have any previous card ready, including anything from a rescue or a previous owner.
Afterwards
- A quiet evening is normal. A lump at the injection site still there weeks later is not, and needs a call.
- Kittens need a course rather than a single shot. The schedule goes on the card at the first visit.

No pet health plan in Nigeria settles this, so it is paid for directly. We would rather say that here than have you discover it at the point of claiming.

Does my indoor-only cat need it?
Usually not, and we will say so rather than sell it. It earns its place for cats that go outside, cats that live with one that does, and any household taking in a cat whose history nobody knows.
Should my cat be tested first?
Ideally yes. Vaccinating a cat that already carries the virus achieves nothing, and knowing changes how you manage the household. We can take the sample at the same visit.
Is it covered by pet health cover?
Skeepy Pet HMO cat plans cover the core vaccines. FeLV sits outside that on current plans, so it is usually paid for directly. Give us your HMO ID at booking and we will confirm rather than guess.
