How we would use this
A bowl, meant for cats and dogs. In daily contact with an animal's mouth, which is what makes the material matter. Wash it daily. A bowl topped up rather than washed grows a biofilm you can feel with a finger, and it is the reason some pets go off their food. Stainless or ceramic over plastic. Plastic scratches, and the scratches hold bacteria that cause the chin acne people mistake for dirt.
