A lead, meant for dogs and cats, in large. The piece of kit that takes the most daily load. Check the clip rather than the strap. Leads almost always fail at the clip, and a cast metal trigger clip outlasts a stamped one by years for very little more. Length changes behaviour. A shorter lead near traffic and a longer one where it is safe to sniff gets you a calmer walk than one compromise length everywhere.
